There are few Sunderland supporters who would not instantly recognise The Hemy Painting that hangs proudly in the main entrance to The Stadium Of Light. Reputed to be the oldest painting of a football match anywhere in the world Ryehill Football is presenting to Sunderland football fans a 4 part write up of Thomas Hemy and the background to the painting via a downloadable link from this page.
Parts 1 and 2 contains 2 double page A4 sized spreads and they are downloadable now. The remaining spreads will be available next month.
In our opinion there is one thing that no one Sunderland supporter has a monopoly on and that is the history of our club. By making it available to everyone we all hope that our proud traditions and heritage will live on. Check back next month for parts 3 and 4 that will complete this magnificent story.
